Chick Hardware WINNER + Foodie Friday FEATURES

This week was a long one for me so I apologize for not having these features ready to go earlier but when you are trying to plan the prefect meal these things take time and consideration...so without further ado...

The Perfect Meal From Start to Finish

Appetizers...

I think they are pretty much all covered in this here Appetizer Party post by Aimee at Wonderfully Domestic. She made some super delicious and quick apps that I am sure made the crowds squeal in delight. In my opinion, appetizers are a good sign of what is to come from any party and this one is no different...

Side Dishes - though they all may not "go" with the main course this is my party and I can mix it up if I want to...

Curried Chick Peas Over Quinoa from Mostly Food and Crafts is the perfect blend of proteins and fiber as well as flavors! I am a new convert to curry and must say I am delighted with all these new curry recipes that have been popping up...such as...

Treat and Trick's Baked Curry Puffs! Ya'll know I am going to leave out the meat but the rest of it sounds DIVINE! I love me a good puff and to know I can have it curried ta' boot? A big dream of mine comes true!!

In my opinion, no meal is complete without a potato of some sort. Yes, there are potatoes in the puff but they aren't the true star of that show so I felt the need to shed a little light to shine on my potato friends alone. These Sweet Potato Fries from Frugal Follies are one of my all time favs!! But let's add one more just for good measure...

Girlichef linked up these Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes which look super easy to make and yummy to the core. With Butter, Cheddar, Mozzarella, Boursin, AND cream you know these have to be delicious and super healthy...OK - not so much the healthy but I can guarantee the deliciousness with block out the evil troll in your head that will be yelling to put the fork down. Go forth and conquer, ladies. We only live once!!

The actual meal comes down to one sandwich 2 ways...

Vegetarian...

Anything wrapped in a pita is A-OK with me so when I saw The V Kitchen link up Pita and Falafel Wraps I was sold. My husband and I use pitas for dipping in hummus, as a good base for a individual pizza, and yes, even for falafel! We have yet to make our own pitas but with this recipe it looks like a good place to start. I love a good falafel sandwich and this one is sure to delight...but shall we bring on the meat?

For the Meat Eaters...

While you're making Pitas make sure to make a few extra for this next dish! C+C Marriage Factory linked up Chicken Souvlaki with Tzatziki Sauce. These look delicious and, though I will be skipping the chicken, it is always nice to have some sort of meat for at a party for all those who simply can't live without it like my husband! :) I will, however, be eating my share of the veggie kabobs so it is crucial I pick lots of veggies for the garden for this one!

Desserts:

Becky from Baking and Cooking - A The Tale of Two Loves posted a wonderful recipe for Raspberry Dark Chocolate bars that were simply heavenly! As you know, I made my own version this week (see it here) and had to make an extra batch after the first one mysteriously disappeared by morning. E nor I have no idea where they could have gone too...hmmm...

How about something on the lighter side? This Lemon Curd Trifle with Fresh Berries posted by My Happily Ever After looks light and refreshing not to mention beautiful with all those colorful berries. This is the perfect time of year to find fresh berries at great prices and the lemon curd is sure to balance out the dish perfectly...but why stop there?

Of course I could not forget my favorite of all desserts ever!! Creme Brulee which was posted by Making Messes: One Project {or more} at A Time. You all remember my Lobsta Roll jaunt and how I found the best creme brulee on earth? Well, this reminded me of it all over again and I decided no meal would be complete without it!! :)

That's it for my features this week. If you were featured make sure to grab my "Featured" button!!
